Memo to: His Excellency Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan

I am writing to Your Excellence because, even from my distant and relatively ignorant perspective, I see enemy forces building an information framework that threatens Turkey:

Foreign Affairs magazine, January/February2013, Volume 92, Number 1. In the 40 years I have been a reader of the magazine, the fact that the first article of this issue included a full-page, color, close-up of Abdullah Gul was unprecedented. This striking “pay-attention” message to the international community is a clear indication that the media attack on Turkey has reached top-of-the-agenda status.

The 18-hour live broadcast of CNN (USA), from Taksim Square, waiting and hoping that civil conflict will occur, is further confirmation that promoting civil conflict, in Turkey, is on the current “top-interest” agenda. I was in New York then, but I have also been in Istanbul recently. My experience in Istanbul and my experience in New York, regarding Istanbul, simply did not connect.

International news reports on Turkey are presented together with reports on Syria and Egypt. A guilt-by-association framework of information is being built.
Bloomberg News and Business Week are currently setting-up an information framework targeted at the Turkish economy: “Turkey Stocks are Biggest Loser as Erdogan Crisis Persists” By Ye Xie and Katia Porzecanski, December 30, 2013, is one of many examples.

My perspective is distant but I do appreciate the seriousness of the situation.

Also, I am somewhat encouraged to write, to Your Excellency directly, by the wording of a speech Your Excellency made this past fall regarding “… make history together….” My presentation, for a promotional Istanbul campaign that I proposed, uses the “make history together” wording, as well.

Like Aladdin, I wish I could become a fly near Your Excellence and whisper to your ear, what my Istanbulian grandmother used to say to me, “Same old, same old isn’t going to do it. Use your thinking to help you.

” From the perspective of a lifelong international communication analyst, kindly consider the following: The priority is to prevent violence before it begins.

In 2014, violence cannot be prevented by force.

The best 2014-way to prevent violence is to devalue violence as stupid and unthinkable, by the use of mass media communication to redirect the focus of attention, in the opposite direction, and promote the value of intelligence, and raise the level of discussion to a framework that you create – a higher, more evolved, more intelligent framework that is advantageous to Turkey – a strategic response that the enemy does not anticipate.

Use the challenge of the enemy forces to prompt you to communicate information that will enhance and reinforce Your Excellence’s image and influence as the Islamic leader of the Middle East. Some suggestions for a 2014 Speech:

The New Year prompts us all to take a moment to stop and look, look fyear long perspective and, think. It is especially a New Year that gievaluate and reconfiguret connect. During the past decade we, together, have achieved economic miracles. Why would any intelligent Turk wish to stop what is working so well? Why would any intelligent Turk want to destroy even one wall of the beautiful nation we are building? Why would any intelligent Turk want the resignation of a leader who has so successfully led his people to record economic development, at a time of crises, in the major world economies? It is not logical. It does not connect in the brain. To be revolutionary in 2014 cannot be connected to physical violence and destruction. To be revolutionary in 2014 needs to be connected a better connected netwfor us, for more of us together, to communicate about cground perspective, toward a revolutionary configuration of information. So, let us stop, look and think. Do you wish to be destructive bulldozing machines or s be intelligent. Let us say no to violence and destructions experiment to use information technology to communicate more and use the power of thinking together. It is stupid if Turkey goes the way of Egypt. Violence and destruction is nos be intelligent human beings together, be the best we can be together and make history together.
(End of speech.)

It’s worth a try – an experiment together - a step in a new direction is the only promising direction. A reconfiguration of shared information, a new experiment together is the way of Ataturk, the Great.

Think Alexander the Great – connect to the historical fact that a great leader who nourishes and expands the intelligence of human beings, even in failure, is far greater than a leader who manipulates and coerces the intelligence of human beings to his will.

I believe Istanbul is a perfect location for the birth of the time-now, long-time coming Enlightenment of the 3rd Millennium.

If the above connects – communicates, I am one-hour away from Istanbul and eager to contribute information and expertise, to the best of my ability. Thank you for your gracious attention, Most sincerely,
